Liberty Women’s Group

The group was started in September 1997 in response to the need for an outlet where women could come together, form closer relationships and fellowship with each other. The founder, Janet Wallace, along with Grace Fagan and Allison Alleyne came together and put together the basis of what is now a successful ministry at Wood Street Tabernacle.

Under the current leadership of Valerie Campbell, the aim of the group is to encourage, support, strengthen, motivate and help to equip each member for ministry and everyday life. We meet periodically over an informal breakfast where we are able to share and dip into the strengths/gifts of the members of the group with the view to utilising those strengths to the maximum. We have also been blessed to bring in specialists who have been able to relate to us from a Christian point of view.

The group so far, has been self-funding and we are aiming to broaden its scope to the outside community. Our Pastor has been a tremendous encouragement in helping us to meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the community and each other, by allowing us to use the church facilities for our meetings and sponsoring us financially. Forthcoming events include seminars on Women in the Ministry, Marriage Guidance and the The Family.
